The prefectural capital is Aomori.

Forest area measures about 640,000 ha and occupies about 66% of Aomori Prefecture. Moreover, the characteristic tree is growing by the area. Especially the Japan cedar is grown all over the districts.

Aomori Prefecture faces the sea. The coastline will be the same as Aomori Prefecture and the distance of Tokyo, and will be about 750 km. Aomori Prefecture is a flow of tide and many fish flock. And various kinds of fish are caught. Aomori Prefecture is famous as an outstanding fishery.
