The prefectural capital is Hiroshima.

Hiroshima Prefecture is located in a southwest part of Japan. And there are a mountain, the sea, a river, a valley, a plain, and a basin. Therefore, agriculture and a fishing are prosperous.

The oyster of Hiroshima Prefecture is cultivated about 450 years before. The quantity of production of an oyster accounts for about 70 percent of Japan. It is a typical marine product of Hiroshima Prefecture.

Hiroshima is the greatest city in a surrounding area. Main industries are the auto industry and commerce.
Hiroshima Prefecture received the world's first nuclear attack. And the miya island and the A-bomb memorial dome of aki are registered into the World Cultural Heritage.
