The prefectural capital is Naha.

Okinawa Prefecture has an island of 160. And people live in islands of 49, such as a main Okinawa island, a miyako island, an ishigaki island, and an iriomote island. The distance from the easternmost tip to the westernmost tip is about 1,000 km. The distance from the northernmost tip to the southernmost tip is about 400 km.

The climate of Okinawa Prefecture is subtropical climate. And the average temperature for one year is 22.7 degrees. Okinawa Prefecture is a way as a typhoon. There are very many typhoons. In particular, it is concentrating in September from July.

The agricultural products of Okinawa Prefecture are a tropical fruit, sugarcane, and a balsam pear. As for industry, bioethanol is in the limelight. The sugarcane of Okinawa Prefecture is famous. It is observing vegetable resources by using fuel.

Okinawa is a tourist resort region of Japanese top class. Every year more than 6 million tourists visit. It supports the economy of Okinawa.
